RE: [RC] [RC] shoes, barefoot, etc. - heidiWell, I apologized about the incorrect use of the word "tissue," but I believe "Medieval" is accurate. Was it not during the middle ages, when the knights in shining armor kept their horses in the castle, that their armor makers came up with the solution of nailing steel to the horeses' hooves in order to preserve them? And this hoof management system has not changed much since that time. Actually, the understanding of shoeing has changed considerably since medieval times. While the overall general appearance of shoeing remains somewhat similar, the knowledge of how to do it to the best interests of the horse has increased astronomically.
