[RC] Off billets... why not?? - Jonni JewellSharon asked : >>>I suddenly wondered, WHY could I not just use a second off billet on the near side?? I could punch extra holes in it to make it more adjustable. Am I crazy, or would this work just fine?<<< I know Stonewall has been doing this for years. He uses nylon "off side" billets, on both sides. If you really need to ride with a tight cinch, it is tough to get enough lift, to tighten them enough. But if you can get away with a loser girth, yes, you can do this. Here are some photos of his saddles, and if you look close, under the stirrup fenders, you can see, both sides use off side billets. Why not go buy a pre-made, nylon off side billet at your local tack shop, and give it a try. See if it works for you. They are not that expensive. <http://www.stonewallsaddles.com/saddles.html> Jonni =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
