Thank you Julie.  When I get home tonight I will scan the ad and mail it
to  you.  You might find it interesting.  I did since I hadn't ever
heard anyone  talking about it before.  8^) I am really enjoying looking
through these old  WH's. The are filled with endurance/distance riding
articles.


I was still somewhat new in the sport in 1977 and not too "in the loop"
but I vaguely remember talk about a big money ride being organized.  I
don't think it actually came off.  I suspect that the organizers perhaps
intended to sanction it, but didn't actually get it done.
