Re: [RC] Fwd: [RC] ? dogs in camp - RDCARRIEIn a message dated 1/26/2004 11:38:46 AM Eastern Standard Time, Merryben writes: If my dog was tied to the trailer and somebody's cute little small dog came up and got eaten, it would most certainly be the big nasty German Shepherd's fault. Same with our Alaskan Malamute...she's a sweetheart, has competed in obedience trials (has two legs of her CD title), etc. But she does NOT like strange dogs coming up into her face. Regardless of their size, I can just about guarantee that the other dog will come out on the short end of an encounter with our little 60 lb, 11 yr old, arthritic and hip-dysplastic malamute. And of course, it will be our dog's fault, even though she's the one tied up! We constantly tell people to get their dogs out of our camp, and warn them that our dog does not like strange dogs...you'd think that would be enough...but 30 minutes later, their loose dog is back again. Ours is always either tied up, on a leash, or in her crate. Some rides I get so frustrated, I'd love to see riders who let their dogs loose in camp receive DQ for their ride!
