Linda
- my last post on this topic stated that new developments on the subject were
welcome.
And
they still are.

Re: [RC] Under-age camel jockeys get caring hand - Gulf News
article
I thought you banned this
topic on RC.
Was that only when the
UAE was being portrayed in a negative light? Now that these slave
traders are being embarrassed into claiming they are taking positive
steps.....is it OK to post on this issue? How odd that you
discouraged the negative threads about this issue, but now that there is a
nice article portraying the UAE leaders as caring, compassionate, and wanting
to help and rehabilitate the little slave children.....you are the one who
brings the banned topic back to the list.
Do you think the UAE
rulers would have done anything on their own if it hadn't been for the
HBO program, or Ansar Burney, or probably the tons of letters and emails
they most likely received from around the world??? I find it
ironic that the very people the article points as the lawbreakers there are,
in reality, the rulers of the UAE. Of course they will never
admit any wrongdoing. Instead, it appears the rulers are
pointing the finger at the "agents" who bring the children into the
country.....or the "phony guardians" who claim to be their
parents. Someone has to be the scapegoat,
right?
It will be interesting to
see what is really done toward stopping this atrocity and what will turn out
to be lip service. Wonder how long it will be before cameras are
allowed at the camel tracks?
