[RC] Thanks, Maryanne! - Cindy CollinsI kept warning our local riders not to compete too intensely with the visitors because it was rather hopeless. Their horses didn't have the base and competition wasn't likely to give it. Experience has, sadly, proved me right. No one has had a horse last long enough to attain base work to even complete soundly. This is not the fault of the sport, but the fault of the riders who got caught up in the glamour, glory and cash involved. Thanks, Maryanne! You are an excellent philosopher. And, intentionally or not, you made my point. I appreciate your on-the-ground perspective from the Middle East. The glamour, glory and CASH are a part of my concern with the whole international, UAE sponsored scene. People will over-ride for a t-shirt. It would be so easy to put aside warning signs when you are running for a horse trailer that most of us only dream of owning. This is not meant to insult the integrity of any riders, but more a comment on human nature.
