[RC] Desert gold 3 Day - LaneyI only got to ride the 3rd day LD but what a fantastic ride it was! I live 45 minutes from Ft. Ord and ride there a lot but the trails I rode today were completely new to me and wonderful. Apparently the ride manager had to get special permission to use some of the trails and I applaud his efforts. The bay, sparkling in the sunlight, was off to the right; Salinas was off to the left and sparkled at night. At one point we rode down an alley thru live oak trimmed just that morning so even tall horses and riders could get thru, the view straight ahead was of Pacific Grove and the Monterey Bay Aquarium across the bay. Wow! And, the footing was to die for except for the sandy patches but even they weren't awful.Hopefully, the BLM will be pleased with how the ride went and will allow it to happen again.
