Dangnabit, I ALWAYS misspell that one... <sigh> Yes, levade is the low one with highly flexed hocks and pesade is the higher one. Our stallion Aur Bold Tribute does what I call his "Snoopy dance" on crispy mornings--gets up like a pesade and then hops repeatedly, usually at least 5-6 times. He will sometimes repeat this sequence several times as well. Little wonder hubby thinks Bo is the most agile, sure-footed horse he has ever ridden, at pretty much any speed, on most any sort of terrain...
