Yes Paul's Paso can't quite keep up with us on
the big, longer hills but he can "fly" past us on the downhill. Gaited
horses can fly down hills when we have to walk or slow trot. So its all a wash.
I would agree. As my paso gets more fit, his CRI gets
better and better. AND I do the same with friends on Arabs on
conditioning rides. My guy can't do the hills quite as well, but
his heart rate is spot on with the arabs with the same
conditioning.
