If you are ready for a ride in January, I would recommend the Fire Mountain LD (30 miles) on January 22.
It is on a desert course (Ridgecrest area) with no big hill climbs, just rolling desert terrain.
The weather is usually cold at night and first thing in the morning, usually warming to 60 or so later on. Of course, in the desert, it could be windy & cold - you never know!
20 Mule Team in February is a 35/65/100 in the same area.
