Re: [RC] OT-Sudden death - Chris PausHow awful for you all. Dang I 'm sorry. I transported a filly last year from Kansas to Miss, hired a shipper to do it, someone I trust. I've had a bad time with a shipper, but that's another story. Our filly was only 7 months old but arrived just fine after such a long trip. she had been acclimated to trailer trips before she was shipped. I'm going through weaning now on this farm and it's been the worst we've ever had.. two colts who are really mommas boys! The fillies have been so easy. I have no ideas for you, but want to offer condolences. chris --- Lori Greene <lorickg@xxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: Has anyone here had any experiences with horses suddenly dying? My father just bought a colt...colt acted fine, no outward signs of illness, transported less than 5 minutes from point A to B, and arrived at point B with a dead colt. Colt was not laying in ackward positioning as of broken neck or anything, but did say the next morning had a soft ball size of something that came from the nostril. Our uncle sold a baby last year bought off the mama, had been trailered before, went to deliver the baby, was in transport 10 minutes from home, heard a noise, and that baby was dead. Is this common, can they panic to the point of death? Any ideas?
