My old girl has arthritis in her hocks. I found this amazing stuff called 
Bute Substitute here at Loveland Vet Supply in Colorado -they developed it. 
My vet OK's it. It has worked for quite a few horses that I personally know 
of. Been using it for 6+ months and no side affects that I can see. Vet and 
supplier have not had any side affects either.

AND..... ITS PRETTY CHEAP! $29.01 (tax included) for a bucket that lasts a 
month.
Loveland vet supply has shipped to Montana for me for $6. They sell the 
stuff like crazy and so it's always a "fresh" batch. I can't say enough good 
things about it.
