[RC] starting young horse-kari hanes - Ed Kilpatrickhi kari, you dont have to do ld with him at all if you dont want to. ride, condition, and wait until he is old enough to do 50 miles. unless you just want to do ld. there is no set formula for a "correct" number of ld rides to do before "moving up" to 50. it depends on the individual abilities of the horse and of the rider. ed
