Red clover has something in it that is not good for horses ,check with your 
ag. dept.  or vet. I read it somewhere, I have some white clover in my 
pasture and it seems to cause them to sweat just walking around when they 
are eating it, but when off they don't... But as I was getting rid of some 
of it purposely I came across something that said Red clover was a no, 
no....some compound in it you don't want horses to have.... if I remember 
....
