[RC] jogging along-side - Katie AzevedoWell, Angie, I think that most of the reason people even like endurance at all is because of the special connection they have with their horse (not to mention the beautiful new ground they travel...). And whether you are riding your beloved friend or not, you are still achieving these two things, as well as working together with your horse to cross the finish line healthy and happy. So whether you are leading your horse or not doesn't really matter. Kudos to those riders who go through the physical pain of jogging down the trail right next to their horse while giving them a break from carrying a load...
