Re: [RC] Weight - heidiI would say if we can't agree on an NC - we abolish it. Actually AERC endurance is much more regional based than national based. The FEI level is much more national based than regional based. In fact I'd vote to get rid of ALL national awards, period. Actually, several of the national awards are near and dear to many of us--and are followed by many of us. That said, your statement underscores a part of the problem--when there WAS a points-based national champion, it WAS meaningful to many folks across regional boundaries. While regionalism is in many ways quite real, the national championship used to be something that most of us respected and recognized, regardless of where we lived. And the fact that abolishing it has caused more regionalization, as you have so aptly observed, is one reason why many of us would like to see it back.
