Re: [RC] WEIGHT DIVISIONS - rides2farWell, Angie....I certainly think "weight matters".If "winning matters", now, that might really be the real question. If winning matters to folks, there are things that they will have to do, > whether it is the race or the BC award.~Frank Call me slow...but I read this several times and I'm not sure what you're getting at. Is winning a bad thing? Are you saying people will have to compromise principals in some way in the weight catagory to *win*? Having had a FW my junior win a BC when the winner of the ride was a HW it hasn't been my experience that she had to add weight to compete for BC. As a person who has spent most of my riding career at the lower end of LW I haven't managed to convert any weight advantage in my division into any great success myself. I haven't really seen any evidence of outright abuse in any of this discussion, just of confusion over what is considered acceptable. For the most part we are a remarkably well behaved self policing bunch. My hat's off to all of you heavier people who have consistently "put it on me". Seems like every time I ever got "1st LW" there was either a HW or MW ahead of me to make me feel silly for getting an award.
