Re: [RC] English saddle/recessed stirrup bar pressure - Alice YovichWe discussed that possibility as well, if anything, it is a tad too straight. We looked at it on her back and there is a tiny, tiny amount of light to be seen right where I sit, but when we girthed it down, it made perfect contact with her back and the saddler things that it will do fine. He said it really fit her quite well. He said that the front of the saddle was catching on her shoulder action and when her shoulder moved forward, the saddle fell down into the dip beside her withers, but then never came up. Each stride was then banging on the saddle. So, he added stuffing at the front to "hold it up" much like a shoulder bridge pad (which was my next idea) or the correcTOR pad, would do.At 07:52 AM 10/30/2004, you wrote: The saddle may have too much arc for the horse's back. If the horse is flat backed this saddle may not be properly distributing the weight. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
