Back in the days when I started riding there
were NO weight divisions, and Pat Fitzgerald, a HW rider, was winning everything
on a 14.2, 750# Hyannis gelding. Go figure....

I'd make the Heavyweight category was ten lbs heavier
to enter just so Mike would have to carry more water. (sorry, that was
a joke there).
But, really, start the heavies at 220 or 230, with
tack of course. Expand the weights of the lightweight and
middleweight. 3 seems better. And, you must ride in the category
you are in; no moving down because, in your dreams, you still consider
yourself a tiny hiney.
