[RC] Calm down paste - Jena Williams

I found a great trick to "calm down my horse" when we were getting him out on trail at first. He was a freak with other horses. I did start with the little calming pellets (can't remember the brand), all the grass hay he could eat, and turn out in the arena the night before we would ride. Then I would either down a beer or take a benedryl (antihistime) and off we would go. Before long, I found he didn't need the calming stuff, I did!

Moral is, with sensative horses your moods and expectations show in the horses behavior.

Our solution was for me to relax, and the have the cues to get his attention back to me. Doesn't matter what it is. Our changed as we went along because when he would get to good at something he could do it on "automatic" and I wasn't really getting the focus I wanted. Now we are both confident and have a great time.
