[RC] [RC] calm down paste - Ed Kilpatrick - LaBrake, Denise AI can attest to Ed's advice! He and others have helped me learn some natural horsemanship with training my green horse. And, the little bit that we have done worked wonders. My mare is following me around my property with her nose just beneath my right hand or left hand. I'm am clearly the leader now and she has more confidence in me to guider her along. Believe me there were times over the past few weeks that I did some really stupid stuff however, what I found worked best is remaining calm, being consistent, doing as much ground work as possible, and taking every opportunity that I am with my horse to train. Even just feeding her. The other thing I did as well was switched her feed from Omolene200 to Ultium and the result is a much calmer horse. I have it drilled in my head that when she is not herself, I'm doing something wrong. We re-adjust and move forward and it's worked everytime! Thanks to all! ****************************** the best kind of "calm down paste" is elmer's glue. write out a good set of ground control training exercises on a sheet of paper, then using the elmer's glue, paste it up on your barn wall, so that you will read it and follow it on a regular basis. :-) ed Denise =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
