Is this a group of individuals selected to participate in an FEI event, so judged by members of an AERC selection committee? Is the AERC spending organizational monies to send this group of horses and riders to the United Arab Emirates? Am I, as a member of the AERC, being "represented" by these riders in the UAE? Is the AERC being "represented" by these riders in the UAE? Is the USEF, through the USET Foundation, only funding the five-week "team camp" for the horses and riders, or the whole evolution? No, Frank, this is neither an AERC team nor an FEI team. FEI is the sanctioning body that sanctions international events. It does not select or sponsor squads/teams. USEF is our national federation that sends squads to FEI events abroad, not just for endurance, but for all FEI disciplines in which USA equestrians compete. The squad to which you are referring is selected by USEF. The only connection to AERC is through the AERC-International committee, which more or less serves in a liaison or advisory role to USEF on behalf of endurance.
