[RC] cold weather camping - Alice YovichI too am contemplating this as well. We have a ride in Dec. and it was 24 degrees one night last year and I was really an unhappy camper. I ended up sleeping, reclined in my truck b/c I was so entirely miserable. I had a cot, but the cold air got me from the bottom. I usually tarp off and sleep in my stock trailer, but the wind was so bad, i couldn't put the tarp over it, so I just slept in the open stock trailer (or didn't sleep as the case may be) I have a cot/tent and I was in it with tons of blankets, but my backside was freezing. Finally I got up and slept in my truck, but never did get any quality rest. I figure I need to do something different for this next year. There is no electric, so I can't bring an electric heater. I'm trying to figure out if an air mattress in the trailer is better, or trying to sleep in the backseat of my extended cab pickup? Or back to a tent, and maybe get a smaller tent for heat? Not really sure at this point. At 12:56 PM 10/25/2004, you wrote: From: Tshuck64@xxxxxxx Subject: [RC] Cold Weather Camping!! =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
