Heidi, did the shots in the neck except when I took
the horse to the vets. Then the stocks were handy. I was not happy
with the shots in the neck but seeing that I saved a 40 dollar farm call, it
made sense to do it. That way I had part of a ride entry paid for.
My vet has pulling horses so he is well aware of selenium levels and how
important they are. He has come and vetted some of our rides but alas, he
is too busy raising a family, taking care of animals, building a house, and then
going to pulling contests to want to come and vet rides. I wish he would,
he would be a good vet for our rides. I will take what I can get however,
a good vet who has good advice and is willing to work with one.
