Re: [RC] Saddles,Saddles,Saddles HELP ME!!!!!!!! - Chris PausGosh, there isn't much help for you my dear, you're too near the edge, LOL... sorry, couldn't resist. the answer is whatever works for you and your horse. There's no reason you can't ride a KMH with a traditional English saddle. No reason you can't use an English saddle on trails or endurance. I personally prefer AP style saddles, other people prefer dressage style. It's whatever works for you and your horse. Gosh, that's a lot of help, eh? Unfortunately, you'll just have to experiment. It's helpful if you can find saddles you like that other people have and see if they'll let you try them before you spend the money. If you can't, then go Ebaying and start trying saddles and resell them if they don't work. Don't worry. Texans are getting used to seeing people in lycra tights riding in little English saddles, LOL... stubbens usually work pretty well on high withered horses. They don't work at all on my flat backed Arabs. the good thing there is that there often are some bargains on Stubbens on Ebay. EquiBette is Libertyville's house brand. I think it's made by Thorogood. seems to be decent for the money. If it doesn't work, you haven't spent a fortune. I have a wide variety of saddles at my barn, a different kind for each horse... Makes it interesting! chris --- Harrytmdh <harrytmdh@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: OK OK PLEASE Advise me PLEEEESE!!!! i am driving myself nuts here, but as my kids say "it wont be a long trip..." I am sick absolutely sick to death of my western saddle. Its heavy, i can NOT ride in it!!! And as every helpful Texan for miles points out I have my stirrups too short...yeah? thats the ONLY way i can stay afloat. Having come from NJ to TX i miss my english saddle... I need help here folks. Ginger is a 14.3 Kentucky Mountain saddle horse. So she gaits. her mama was a saddlebred, her papa a Rocky Mountain, somehow registering her as a KMSH. she has high withers also. My question is I want a decent ENGLISH saddle.I tried the treeless sportsaddles.. NO. Dont like them either! I am looking on ebay at used Collegiates and Stubbens. What do you suggest? or a new wintec? Equi-Bette? THEN WHAT? do I get a A/P, close contact, will a dressage work? I dont know what to get! Medium Tree?? We dont ride everyday and will probably never be any real competition for you folks, but we do trail ride, and I would someday like to try Dressage. I dont want an endurance saddle, not yet. Please help, Any advice is gratefully Acepted!!! i am just about bats over this. Ginger is honest and willing and I dont want to hurt her either. But this western saddle can not be good for her, cause I HATE IT!!! Paula and Ginger in still wonderfully HOT Texas :) _______________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Express yourself with Y!
