[RC] need ideas for good horse areas in west - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: Flora & Fran 2franch@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== Dear Ridecampers, we plan to retire soon, and would like to move from our high-cost area in central Oregon to an area with lower land and building prices, while still being in a pleasant area to ride and live. Proximity to town is not an issue, though it would be nice to have a Costco within, say, 100 miles! We'd like to hear about areas that don't have lots of oppressive summer heat, huge amounts of snow or rain, or major insect problems. We do love mountains, so it would be nice to have some nearby with ample trail access. We do not compete, but we do extensive trail riding at endurance training ride speed :-) We also plan to start doing a lot of packing. We'd really enjoy hearing about promising areas that come close to fitting these wishes, from the Rocky Mountain and southwest states to the Pacific. We hope to do a lot of travelling this winter to check out interesting areas. Please reply privately to: 2franch "at" outlawnet "dot" com. Thanks so much for any suggestions!
