[RC] ok, so I found a ridecamp...what next? - Timothy WordenI think I've finally found a location to manage an endurance ride here in North Carolina. I've talked with the owner of the land and he's very interested. What would be my next step(s) in moving forward with setting up a ride? Not sure if I'd be able to have things ready for a ride in 2005, but I'm sure I could put it all together for 2006. This would be a mountain type ride, maybe a little tougher than Biltmore, but not quite as tough as Leatherwood. The location will require me to limit my entries since camp will probably be pretty tight. I'm hoping to squeeze in 75 riders max....possibly more if people "car pool". I'd be interested in hearing how other managers deal with a small ridecamp. Also, I think Annie G. just brought this up for her ride, I was considering having the 25 and 50 fees be the same. My thoughts are around $80-$85....paid in full with pre-entry....juniors I would try my best for no fee or max half the adult fee. I'm not made of money, so I'll have to see what I can manage. Due to the legistics of the trail, more than likely the 50s will reach the higher elevations of the trail and I'd love to encourage riders to go the longer distance to be able to enjoy these trails. Not trying to short change the 25, but I have to work with what there is. Any pointers, info, and/or words of encouragement will be much appreciated.
