Re: [RC] Lexington Lidlocker helmet - Glenda R. SnodgrassOn Tue, 12 Oct 2004, Jonni Jewell wrote:Lidlockers are no longer made by "Lexington". Lexington was part of Millers Saddlery, which is no longer. Many products were picked up by other companies. Lidlockers are now made by International I believe. The best place I have found to get a Lidlocker was Ebay. Found new in box, made by the original Lexington company. I would be leery of riding in an "original" Lidlocker, since it may well be past its prime. I understand that helmets need to be replaced every 5 years even if you haven't had a wreck, because the foam degrades over time, and even faster in hot climes. I don't know exactly when Lexington quit making them, but I believe it was a few years ago. I was a Lidlocker-wearer but have switched to Tipperary, which fits me just as well and is even more comfortable. -- Glenda R.
