Re: [RC] [RC] Resting Heart Rates - Kristene SmutsMust tell you a very amusing story. I have a stallion whose resting rate is 32, never more than 36 at a pre-ride vetting. We do our first ride, an LD, and he pulses in as normal. I take him to the vet, me proudly presenting my very calm and low-pulse-rate stallion at his VERY FIRST RIDE. Vet tells me it's 96! My heart attacks me on the spot, but fortunately the vet is an old hand at this and makes us trot out again and immediately takes his pulse again - 38!! Turns out that the vetting with another stallion 2 lanes further on was a tad too much for his composure ;-)) Cheers Kristene South Africa =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
