Hi all: Just a little clarification based on
personal experience (ouch!): Bees are not wasps. Wasps bite as well as sting,
and they can hit you over and over while a bee can hit you only once (thank
God). The difference between the bite and the sting is that while you can
have an allergic reaction to the sting, a wasp bite can cause severe infection,
including blood poisoning, which will require aggressive antibiotics
(intravenous). So, while the reaction to a wasp bite could take longer to
manifest, the recipientg may still require medical intervention. Wasps are
particularly nasty at this time of year, when their normal food sources -
including bees - start to disappear.
Bottom line - antihistamines may not cut the
cake.
