RE: [RC] [RC] Fear when mounting/dismounting - Libby & Quentin Llop DVMMy boys do that all the time as well as the from the side vault. Leave a horse around them for a while and they get used to most everything. The last time I asked my youngest to trot out my horse at a vet check, he vaulted on and off on the way back from the turn around to impress the girl scribing. Years ago we had the best little Shetland pony for our boys. One day while she was in the pasture eating grass, a neighbor boy who thought he was hot stuff, ran up behind her and vaulted onto her back. We all cheered as she bucked him summarily off. That is the only time, outside of Gene Autrey movies, I have seen that mount done.
