I am not sure where these figures (one day for
every 10 miles..etc.....) came from , but, wouldn't it make sense to add HOW
hard the horse was ridden, into that equation?
I have seen horses finish rides that looked like
they needed an entire season off, and horses finish 50 miles several days in a
row.
At XP04, my mare Equal Terms did a 50 on Fri, had
two days off and did five 50s in the next five days and could have gone on,
but going faster would not have allowed us to do that. There is more to
the equation than how far the horse went.
