Re: [RC] [RC] fear and trust - Laurie DurginI have an Aussie endurance saddle from Downunder saddlery and I have had some spin and bolt type spooks, and some sideways ones. Has saved me a few times! Only once did it slip a bit sideways, and I dove off after being unable to right it. And that was because I was trying a new pad and girthed too loose, and no crupper on my fat mare... (enter the "fear thread after getting hurt ..".)I post in it easily, after I took off the stiffer leathers and used wintec webbers instead. Has a flatter bowl type seat too. Has a cutback so works well on my short back gelding. Also not the typical stuffing , but foam type flatter panels to fit his wither tracing. I like english, but wanted more security like western, w/out the horn hooking me . This did the trick. Has english girthing, I did have to cut some of the billet straps off and I subsituted a gel dressage girth(like a 22-24). But it only has one flap, and it is not as long a flap as alot of aussie saddles. And it only weighs about 15 lbs without sitrrups and leathers.I also like the english stirrup curved bars, as the stirrups will come off in a fall.....I have had to modify some pads to fit it ...
