Re: [RC] [RC] 100s & no training time - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: Nicole z_arabs@xxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== I'm wondering how many others are in the same boat? Where they really only "train" once a week? << I've been in that situation for years. I can sometimes get in some mid-week arena time or a quick gallop (figuratively) after work, but for the most part my horses just exercise themselves during the week and go for one or two good rides on weekends. One mare on this schedule did 5 50s this year between Jan and May. The PS region rides pretty much shut down for the summer, and my time has been extra hectic all summer so that mare has basically been keeping herself fit since May, but we will do an LD this weekend and then a 50 in a couple weeks (knock on wood). My gelding on this schedule will be doing his first LD & then 50 at these same couple rides this month (with a friend riding him). That said I ride SLOW during competitions. I have a couple "turtles" this year and am by no means racing. ~Nicole =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
