Re: [RC] bathing problems - Ed & Wendy Hauser

Being lazy I have taught my horses to be bathed when they are very hot.  In the Midwest it was easy.  Just wait for a 90 degree day with a 70 degree dew point, get the horse nice and hot.  Then starting with legs spray him/her.  About two treatments and they associate bathing with pleasure.

In my previous house, I ran a hot water line outside so I could bathe horses with warm water.  It does really make a difference.  In my present house I want to do it, but it means spending a day in a crawl space. (actually more of a slither space, it reminds me of the escape tunnel in the movie Stalag 17.)  Not a fun place to work.
