Re: [RC] rattlesnakes - Ed & Wendy HauserYou could move to MN north of Red Wing, or WI north of Lake Pepin and be free of Rattlers. The only problems with that idea is: 1. Skeeters. More than anyone who lives in the desert can ever imagine. 2. Winter. When it snows after November 1, it will be on the ground April 1. January typically has a week where the temperature never gets above 0 F. 3. Hay. While inexpensive (by desert SW standards), it is hard to put up because of the rain. 4. Endurance riding in bad weather. Snow, cold rain, rain, hot and humid are all usual during the season. (May 1 to late October) 5. No mountains.
