Been waiting for someone else to post on Gator Run
this past weekend. Howard, where are you? I know you were
there.
Since it was a three day ride, it really gave
people time to set up, settle in, and have time to get to know one another
better. We don't have many pioneer rides in the southeast and it drew
quite a few people from the northeast as well (who wouldn't want to get out of
the northeast right now?). Watching Mike Caudill park rigs in between the
pine trees was a fun pass time. I think my favorite line was when he said
to one driver "Do you understand yet what I'm trying to tell you?" (She
answered a resounding "NO")
The weather was perfect and we didn't get rain
until Saturday night. The trails were a great combination of packed sand
road and loose sandy trails.
Thank You to Mike and Connie for such a great
time! Mike was everywhere, parking rigs, filling water out on the
trail, remarking trail because of a controlled burn the day before, and I never
saw him when he wasn't smiling and laughing! Connie was holding down
things at camp and handling paperwork and problems that came
up. They both deserved a vacation after the
ride. It was a great ride and we can't wait to go back next
year!
