[RC] Fw: National Guard and Reserve Mobilized as of September 22, 2004 - Mary Ann Spencer
Below is the link to the currently deployed
units. If anyone happens to have the time, inclination etc, you can
'adopt' a unit near you and send cards, etc. The neatest card I received
was from a friend in Afghanistan. He took the cardboard cover from an MRE
and use it for a post card. All mail under one ounce is free
mailing. You are not allowed to send to any soldier but there are
units whom you can contact with a contact person or listing or thru the unit's
chaplain. All mail is appreciated by the troops.
National Guard
and Reserve Mobilized as of September 22,
2004
This week, the Army, Navy and Marine Corps announced an increase in
the number of reservists on active duty in support of the partial
mobilization, while the Air Force had a decrease and Coast Guard remained
unchanged. The net collective result is 984 more reservists mobilized
than last
week.
At any given time, services may mobilize some units and individuals while
demobilizing others, making it possible for these figures to either
increase or decrease. Total number currently on active duty in support of the
partial mobilization for the Army National Guard and Army Reserve is 140,174;
Naval Reserve, 3,962; Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve, 11,130;
Marine Corps Reserve, 11,559; and the Coast Guard Reserve, 1,515. This
brings the total National Guard and Reserve personnel, who have been
mobilized, to 168,340 including both units and individual
augmentees.
