While I am a firearm owner, and in fact have a MT
concealed carry permit, I do scrupulously obey the often silly firearm
laws. While getting caught with an assembled soda bottle silencer is not
very likely to happen, the down side is very serious. I would rather take
a chance of discharging a firearm in the city limits, which is a misdemeanor in
most jurisdictions.
Sometimes the Feds go nuts, remember Ruby
Ridge. The alleged criminal was eventually acquitted by a jury of his
peers, but that did not bring back his loved ones.
