She wrote me as recently as August 25th a cheerful letter and, while she talked some of her medical problems, it was primarily to tell me she had followed my Tevis Cup Ride and to say << Isn't Robie Point the real finish line anyway?!? Or at least spending the day (and night) on a wonderful trail with a magnificent horse really the point?>> With all of her problems, she was trying to make me feel better. I loved that second sentence. She adored her horse Chance that she rode it the OD 50 in June. About a year ago she visited us with her husband and children and three of us went for a ride and I doubt if more charm and inspiration could have been captured in one person. So to Adrienne...we will miss you and may we all be as brave as you when it is our turn. You have shown us how.
