Re: [RC] Triple Crown - Joe LongI don't know who designates rides as a "Triple Crown," but I've believed for 20 years that the ideal Triple Crown of Endurance would be the Old Dominion, the Big Horn and the Tevis. In 1982 a horse named Sari Bimbo finished first place in the Old Dominion and Big Horn 100's, and they then trailered to Auburn and tried to get into the Tevis. Alas, they hadn't pre-entered and the ride, of course, was full. They asked that an exception be made to allow the horse a shot at the "Triple Crown" but were turned down. I don't know if any horse has ever started all three in the same year. -- Joe Long jlong@xxxxxxxx http://www.rnbw.com =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
