[RC] Tennessee Hurricane - rides2farAngie...Honda makes one that is that quiet...Cora I don't know how quiet, but I will say it doesn't bother me one bit at 5 AM to hear people crank them up to cook their breakfast or whatever. It's a sign things are getting going. Firing it up again for a little while for supper is something I can stand, but I just don't understand the need to bring ALL the comforts of home with you. I see people whining that their kids don't do anything but watch TV and then they bring them to a ride and turn on a darned TV in their camper and they wonder why their kids are the consistancy of marshmallows. I like the smell of propane. I like laying in the shade catching what little bit of breeze there is and being able to hear nature around me. I like campfires. People with heated campers only visit with the people they came with . People with campfires meet the neighbors and have a chance to swap stories. If you have air conditioning or heat your door is closed. I like mine open. Kids who are hot in the trailer will wander around and meet other kids, then they think up things to do playing *manually* not with a Gameboy. If your trailer is cool and the game's on you're gonna have a lot more trouble convincing your husband to be standing in the vet check filling buckets of water. I enjoy it when the power goes off...all except the refrigerator...but an ice chest works fine at a ride. An occasional power outage at home is just good for you. Lets you know how much noise there usually is in your life. When you depend on lanterns you have a tendency to go on to bed when it gets late. I treat a camping trip the same way. I guess if I *lived* in my trailer like some of you compulsive multi-dayers do the new might wear off, but for the way I compete, no electricity is fine.
