[RC] Injecting Hocks - Liz MastersJust a thought. I have a horse and he just wasn't right in the hind legs so I took him to a vet that does accupuncture and chiropractic, (Dr. Kevin May located in El Cajon, CA). He touched him all over and said that there wasn't really anything wrong with him but he highly recommended doing the following series:Three generic Legend shots - 1 shot every four days. The cost $28 Each Has to go IV but we can give at home Eight Adequan shots - 1 shot every four days. The cost $60 per shot Goes IM. He said the Adequan shots actually build the joint capsule's and put more fluid in the joints. After 2 shots of each this horse feels SO much better. Dr. May recommended doing this treatment before injecting any joints. He also recommended doing this regime every 6-8 months or if the horse seems sore. I also give 1 Adequan shot a month and on the off weeks I give 1 shot of generic Glucosamine (Cost $5 per shot) Seems a little pricey but the horses feel GREAT!
