OREANA -- While the world was host to the Olympics in Athens this past
month, Idaho was host to an event of Olympic-size stature in the world of equine
endurance in the small town of Oreana.
The U.S. International
Equestrienne Federation (FEI), in conjunction with the Abu Dhabi Emirates
International Village (an endurance racing facility in the United Arab
Emirates), came together to host the Arabian Nights Endurance Ride. This ride
was the final qualifying ride to choose the United States Endurance team for the
World Championships which will be held in Dubai in February, 2005. In addition
to selecting members for the U.S. National team, this ride was also a national
and international competition.
