If the offense is more serious, she'll face the naughty one and expel him/her from the heard...eye to eye and facing squarely.
When my boys come to the barn, they know all "horse play" must stop before they gather at the door. Otherwise the alpha mare will get mad and no one gets in the barn. Dad handles this differently. He tries to use physical force or scare them away. They'll run over him in the barn...actually push him out of the way. The alpha mare tactic works for me.
