[RC] opinions - heidi

Yes, you can hit the delete key, you can unsubscribe, etc. My point was that THIS list is as guilty as any, maybe more so, (look back at just the last months worth of lists) AND since I am a horsescience member since it's beginning, I can say that any bashing is NOT allowed on Tom's board. Yes, he rules it with an iron fist, but it's his board, he's in charge, he doesn't bash either and it's a 2 strikes you're out rule. There is also no gossip. Very refreshing in the world of the internet actually. I like both lists for what I get from each, this board tends to make me laugh, sometimes quite hysterically, either from great RC stories, or from the tender egos running amok. I've learned alot from both boards, but here's the main difference I see....... one is a daily inferno that you must try to glean information from, the other is so crammed full of information you cannot hope to ever soak it all in. At least on Tom's board my delete key isn't being utilized for the same old debates/gossip/arguements/flaming sessions. I have another arab board I post on, wonderful arab owners, it rarely has any of the problems you or I mentioned. I joined it for a whole 'nother reason!

My dad used to have a saying about opinions, but then we've probably all heard that one before!!!

Yes, Heidi, and the answer to THAT is to use the key when
there's someone whose opinion is consistently delivered in such a
format.

And to unsubscribe from lists that permit that type of behavior. I
feel the same way about lists where gossip is encouraged, and have quit
those too.

Like Melissa said so well, not willing to allow that sort of negative
energy in. It's your choice how you spend the time you are given,
whether on positive pursuits or not.

Too often we enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of
thought.
