I have a 20 yo qrtr pony type mare who has been
nodding her head, pretty much incessantly, for the past few weeks. I still
think it could be bugs, but none of the other horses are bothered and I do have
a fly mask on her, and fly spray doesn't seem to help. Thing is, it seems
to stop at night, at dusk and when I feed early morning she seems
fine. The rest of the day she's nodding, nodding, poor
thing. Since it stops at night I keep thinking bugs, but I
don't see any........
I've checked her ears, they seem fine.
She looks normal other than the nodding, no weight loss, etc.
She is ridden lightly once or twice a week (my 7 yo daughter is taking lessons
on her) and she is better when she's working.
