Re: [RC] [RC] [RC] Saddles and more and more - Stephanie E CaldwellOh, and boots (for horses) -I have some neoprene running boots that I used to use when I was proving that pasos could barrel race...would these be good to use on a LD ride? I do not own anything neoprene because of heat build up... My mare got major heat burns on her front legs from wearing Professionals Choice Sport boots while injured in her stall. I now have Ortho Equine (Martha Josey's Company) that are truly breathable. The difference is amazing and apparent. When Star tore her tendon and she was booted/wrapped 24 hours a day her legs sweated under the Pro Choice, they got fungus, they were awful. The Ortho Equines had very little sweat, no fungus, and no heat burns. Do I have to buy those tights that everyone wears??? I have some degree of thunder thighs and am not in a big hurry to show them off in a set of riding tights! Although I don't compete and just go to rides for fun and to scribe and learn right now the only place I will show myself in tights is at an endurance race. They make great pajamas, and they work well for layering in the winter time (it's awful to have to put on cold pants on cold skin on a cold morning in a cold tent...). Endurance people are different, they don't judge on looks. I've seen very few riders in anything other than tights, and no one gets strange looks, stares, or anything!
