Re: [RC] The End of the World, Part Two - tprevattHoward a Drama Queen?, now come on. You look up "Drama Queen" in the dictonary it says "see Howard!"
Now how is this endurance related - well try living with a woman that is ready to go postal because we haven't had power since last Sat at noon. Now that's endurance. However, I must admit that the quiet nights sitting on the porch in candle light are sort of nice - something we'll keep doing.
Of course I've been at my office for long days since we have a major review next week - one I can't get up to Washington for since Ivan will either keep me from getting there or getting back. If I got stuck there and the above woman had to deal with Ivan alone, I would be dead meat. So I've got to train a young engineer at the customer facility to give the review - should be interesting (for him). Hopefully they will take pitty on him - fat chance.
So we sit here awaiting as old Ivan is sitting out there licking his chops. However, I do plan on going riding tomorrow morning - just to unwind.
For those that fear them may be in harms way, Jim Holland has put together a list of stables and Teri has them up on the SERA web site (http://www.seraonline.org)
Signing off - till the electron Gods decide we are worthy to have electrons once again flow into our house. I can sure tell you after all this is over, I'm looking into putting a solar power system into my house - if for no other reason that to keep the wife from going bonkers ;-)!
Cheers

listening to a fellow name Well, the Ridecamp Drama Queen is only exaggerating a little bit this time, especially where he lives.
I have fondly started referring to Tom Terry as, Tom Terrific. If Ivan comes close to Florida and you have a chance, tune in via computer to WFTV.com. They were streaming live broadcast and I think Tom Terrific stayed on the air for 96 hours straight. His computer technology is so sophisticated that when he zoomed in on Ormond Beach to warn of impending tornados, I truly saw The Flying Gator rocking in Howard's backyard! Not really, but it seems like Tom could indeed zoom right into your neighborhood.
Charley blew hard for a short time, lots of trees came down everywhere. Frances has left a lot of water, the St. Johns River, which flows north, will be rising for few more days and it is raining again today.
What does this have to do with endurance? With all this debris having to be cut up and hauled off the Florida riders should be in good shape! And most of us haven't even had a chance to get out to our trails to see what needs to be cleared just to get around. It will truly be long, slow, distance!
Happy Trails somewhere!
