oops I mean dust:-)
Ok
ok ok... it's been a dusty summer. Nothing but sunshine and blue skies and
perfect temperatures for the past 3 months, the gardens have loved it (thanks
to lots of water from the mountains) but the earth sure is thirsty here.
Just
to put things in perspective though - last year we had two major thunderstorms
the last week in August, big time flash floods (the first one just about
caught me on the way down from the mountains marking trails - I made it to the
first ranch and ducked in just as it let loose - the road behind me completely
washed out), the second one flooded our ranch and washed out the bridge.
The High Country ride actually had to be re-routed in places to go around the
new 'lakes' that formed after the storms.
This
year Florida has the rain and we have the dust...

I just spent the better part of two days
removing the Owyhee dust from my rig. I did a complete wash job inside
and out, fore and aft. I think that I got most of it. I have
never seen dust on a truck that was that hard to wash off. I think the
dust is 50% Portland cement.
